BEAUTY - Single Page Layout
(Scraps of Elegance DT
+ Scrapki-Wyzwaniowo July Challenge)

Oh, how so very excited am I to be start sharing
with you my creations featuring a brand new
Scraps of Elegance kit called 'Birds of a Feather'!

You will soon see that this kit is a BEAUTY, pun unintended!

I was inspired by the July Challenge
at Scrapki-Wyzwaniowo with 'Beauty' as the theme.

Of course, there were endless possibilities with this theme that I could have chosen from, but also inspired by the lovely SOE kit, I decided to create a more simple old style layout with lots of pretty shabby chicness and featuring my very beautiful niece.  Oh, and butterflies, lots of butterflies! A perfect recipe for beauty!

Before we view some close-ups of my page, let's take a closer look
at the fabulous 'Birds of a Feather' kit and the add-ons that I was provided.

The Scraps of Elegance 'Birds of a Feather' kit includes:

As I told you, I had all the fixings to create beauty on a page with this kit!

To learn more about how to subscribe to Scraps of Darkness
and Scraps of Elegance kits, click HERE.

The BoBunny Serendipity collection seemed perfect to go along with the picture of Daphne at Butterfly World.  You can see here that I got a little creative with the very pretty yellow Blue Fern Studios flowers.  They were gorgeous in their original state needless to say, but I wanted more so I picked the layers apart and used the different layers as extra flowers on my page.

I used lots of different types of embellishments from chipboard
to stickers to die cuts, all with butterflies and all included in the kit.

I do not often scrap in blue and yellow, but I love how this colour combination turned out.
They complement the photo so well!

I'm looking forward to sharing more Scraps of Elegance creations
over the next few days.  So stay tuned!

As you can see, I used the word twice on my project,

and then in bigger format with Thickers alphas.

I went with one of my favorite colors, teal, combined with black and white.

The base tag is also from 7Dots Studio, from the Cotton Candy Dreams line.

I love the shine on these alphas!

Also inspired by our July Main Challenge creative challenge,
I also added a few arrows on my tag.

I urge you to check it out HERE as there is still time!

And then you can use your leftovers to create a card, tag or ATC for this Mini Challenge!

FUN @ THE FAIR - Single Page Layout
(CSI DT - Case File #234)

I'm back today to show you how I solved another CSI case file!

To find out more about Major Case File No. 234
and see lots more DT inspiration, click HERE.

Let me explain how I solved this case!

The Scene represents a Summer getaway so I chose to
scrap about one of my favorite place to go to during this season...
and that's the FAIR!

The Scheme consists of lovely bright Summer-y colours:
medium orange, sky/turquoise blue, white, bright sunny yellow
and seafoam green.  I used a little, or a lot, of each on my page.

From the Evidence list, I opted for:
dashed lines, triangles, stamps, rub-ons, plus signs and scallops.

For the Testimony, I documented about a favorite Summer getaway!

Just to show that scrapbooking is a hit or miss with lots of 'try again'...
I had used another more solid yellow patterned paper as the background
and my page was completed, everything stuck down, pictures taken, layout
ready to sent out to Debbi (CSI owner) as my 234 project when I decided that
I just didn't like it!  I had gone a bit overboard with the paint splatters!
So I returned to my scraproom and carefully removed each paper layer
and cluster of embellishments as well as the photo and stuck them down
again on this yellow striped paper. I am much more satisfied with plan B! :)

The white dash lines I did myself using a white gel pen and the black ones are a rub-on.
And I realize that my plus signs are not really plus signs, but close enough for me! hehe

I had this fun journaling card in the form of a ticket... perfect for my page!

Another case solved for CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration

Do you like my detective work?  Let me know in the comments!

And here's to hoping that you will play along!

MY HAPPY PLACE - Single Page Layout
(CSI DT - Major Case File #233
+ 7 Dots Studio June Challenge)

It's Creative Crime Solving Time once again!

This is my take on a brand new Major Case File
from CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration:

To find out more about Major Case File No. 233
and see lots more DT inspiration, click HERE.

Let me explain how I solved this case!

The Scene is all about relaxation to me, so what better opportunity
to share my lair, the place I escape to on the weekends when I'm off work,
the room in my house that makes me the most happy, 'My Happy Place',
my scraproom!  All the time I spent in this place truly rejuvenates me!

I respected the Scheme colour palette as much as I could
with a beautiful combination of carnation pink, pale sage green, sage green
(more of a greyish hue on my page), white and light golden yellow.

From the Evidence list, I chose a bit more than 3 clues:
book pages, leaves, string, text print, cursive font lettering, wood and triangles.

For the Testimony, I opted to document a weekend ritual
which is to of course spend it in my scraproom as much as I can!
I also hand-wrote my journaling on a little journaling card.

And always, the Major Case File includes a compulsory Sketch which
I was glad to follow because I simply LOVE playing with sketches!

I was also inspired by the June challenge at 7 Dots Studio which is about 'Daily Routine'.
I thought it fit in perfectly with the CSI case file and so I merged the 2 together,
using mostly 7 Dots Studio papers, tags, stickers and chipboard
(from a variety of their collections) on my page.  As already mentioned,
my daily Weekend routine is to scrapbook, scrapbook and scrapbook! :)

And now let's look at some details:

The best part of my time spent in my scraproom is when Sugar the cat joins me!

I added a bit of stamping with 7 Dots Studio stamps on my background
and added color with several mists.

My scraproom has changed since this photoshoot I must say.
I changed furniture around, added some shelvings and fancy baskets
and right now as I write this, it looks like a tornado just passed through!  hehe

These fancy leaves are from 7 Dots Studio as well.  I love them!

There you go!  Another case solved as a CSI Detective!

Thank you CSI and 7 Dots Studio for the inspiration!

BE BRAVE & EXPLORE LIFE - Single Page Layout
(More Than Words DT - July Main Challenge)

This is my DT project for the More Than Words July Main Challenge!

This month's challenge is a really fun one will make you EXPLORE your creativity!

Word Inspiration - EXPLORE
Creative Challenge - ARROWS

You can find all you need to know about this challenge and the fabulous prizes
up for grabs as well as inspiration from the very talented MTW DT right HERE.

'Be Brave & EXPLORE Life' - that is the title of my layout and that is the message
that I would like to relay to my nieces, including the youngest one in the photo,
who are already living life to the fullest every day! They're a constant inspiration to me!

I went a little crazy with the creative challenge.  I added over 30 ARROWS on my page.

I colored the black arrows with a simple marker, the white and fuschia ones
with embossing powder and left the wooden ones just bare.

Arrows, arrows and more arrows... of all styles, sizes and materials!

I made the deep fuscia swirly arrows pop out to represent how life doesn't always
follow a straight and narrow path. You have to not be afraid
and follow wherever it may lead.

I really hope that you will play along with us this month!!
